This is such a cool minimalist wool felt top from the incomparable fiber artist
JOAN VASS. Vass had a reputation for being outspoken and contrary, such as wearing black clothing when most people were wearing Emilio Pucci's vibrant psychedelic prints. Surely she was ahead of her time!

Dimensions:
shoulder 19"
bust 44"
waist 19"
arms (from neck) 24"

Note: this design is constructed of wool felt, cut from one single fabric piece with a hole for the head sewn with seams under the sleeves to the bottom hem. It has a boxy and loose architecture and a front pocket like a sweatshirt.

We acquired this sweater along with other 1960-70 Joan Vass items from an estate sale, the collection included silk and cotton dresses and other period items along with this wool top. The image of the models is from a Fall collection fashion show with similar designs from 1978. The fiber content tag shows Vass signature font, the other name tag has been lost to time.

Collectors condition: no odors, damage, stains, holes or repairs.
